PESHAWAR: Security forces have successfully carried out an operation against militants in the Shah Tangi forest area of Bajaur, clearing their hideouts and tunnels, according to security sources.
Based on credible intelligence, the forces launched a targeted raid on a cave in the Shah Tangi forest where militants were believed to be hiding. A fierce exchange of fire took place during the operation, resulting in the death of one militant while several others managed to flee with injuries, sources said.
During the clearance operation, the security personnel destroyed multiple tunnels and nearby hideouts used by the militants. Weapons, explosive materials, and communication equipment were also recovered from the site.
Security forces reaffirmed their determination to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country and to ensure lasting peace and stability.
