Islamabad: Security forces killed three militants linked to the Indian-backed Fitna al-Khwarij group in two separate operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on November 2, ISPR said in a statement.

Troops intercepted a group of militants attempting to infiltrate from Afghanistan near Esham in North Waziristan. Security forces engaged the group with precision, killing two militants, including Kharji Qasim, an Afghan national who had reportedly served with the Afghan Border Police.

Intelligence-Based Operation in Tank District

In a separate operation in Tank District, forces neutralized another militant identified as Kharji Ikramuddin, also known as Abu Dajana, an Afghan national affiliated with Fitna al-Khwarij. Authorities said these incidents underline the continued involvement of Afghan nationals in attacks on civilians and Pakistani security forces.

Pakistan has repeatedly called on the interim Afghan government to strengthen border management and prevent militants from using Afghan territory for cross-border terrorism.

Ongoing Counterterrorism Campaign

Security forces emphasized their commitment to defending the nation’s frontiers and conducting targeted operations to eliminate remaining militants in the region. Authorities affirmed that their counterterrorism campaign, under the “Azm-e-Istehkam” initiative approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, will continue at full pace to root out foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
