Boya Fort

Web Desk: Security forces repelled a coordinated suicide bombing and attempted ground assault at Boya Fort late on December 19, killing five militants, including a suspected vehicle-borne suicide bomber, military officials said.

Explosion and Failed Breach

The attackers detonated a vehicle-borne suicide bomb against the Boya fort western wall at about 7:55 p.m., damaging a 65–70 meter section of the outer perimeter. Moments later, four militants tried to force their way inside. However, troops from the 64 Frontier Force mounted a rapid response, killing all four near the outer boundary. Officials said the inner wall remained intact, and the situation was brought under control by around 10:30 p.m.

Casualties and Damage

Four soldiers were martyred during the initial blast when falling debris struck their positions, the military said. The casualties included personnel from medical artillery and medical battalion units attached to the defending force.

Recovery and Repairs

Meanwhile, troops recovered a cache of weapons from the attackers, including submachine guns, a rocket-propelled grenade launcher, grenades and communications equipment. Engineering teams deployed concrete barriers and HESCO bags to secure the damaged section, and repair work was underway.

Officials said the swift response prevented the attackers from penetrating the fort and averted further casualties.
