Web Desk: Security forces in Nushki thwarted an attempt by India-backed terrorists to destabilise peace in the region after launching a swift operation in the Killi Rehman area, security sources said on Friday.
The operation left two terrorists dead and two others injured, while security personnel intensified efforts to recover four kidnapped laborers taken during the attack.
According to security sources, authorities moved quickly after receiving reports that armed terrorists had set up a blockade in the area.
Security forces launched an operation soon afterward, triggering an exchange of fire with the attackers. During the confrontation, terrorists used laborers as human shields to facilitate their escape from the scene.
However, the attackers managed to abduct four Sindhi laborers before fleeing toward nearby areas, the sources added.
Meanwhile, security forces sealed off the surrounding region and began a large-scale search operation aimed at rescuing the kidnapped workers and tracking down the remaining terrorists.
Officials said additional troops had also been deployed to strengthen the security cordon and assist in the ongoing operation.
Authorities have not yet released the identities of the abducted laborers or the slain terrorists.
The incident highlights ongoing security challenges in parts of Balochistan, where terrorists attacks targeting civilians, laborers and security personnel have periodically raised tensions.
Security officials said forces remain on high alert in the district as the operation continues.
