Yet, reports suggest the listing may have been falsified, leaving the phone’s future uncertain.
Benchmark Leak Hints at New Upper-Midrange Device
A handset carrying the model number SM-A776B surfaced on Geekbench, showing 8GB of RAM and Android 16. The listing identified a 10-core Exynos chipset related to the Exynos 2400 family, though clocked noticeably lower than Samsung’s recent flagship chips.
According to the benchmark, the processor configuration included:
• Three prime cores at 2.78GHz
• Three performance cores at 2.30GHz
• Four efficiency cores at 1.82GHz
The deca-core design paired with AMD’s Xclipse 940 GPU suggests performance aimed at the upper-midrange market rather than Samsung’s flagship tier. Early scores recorded 1,673 for single-core and 5,597 for multi-core performance, though analysts caution these results are not final.
Industry observers say Samsung could be repurposing excess Exynos 2400 units for a refreshed A-series model, positioning the phone below the Galaxy S lineup but above mainstream midrange devices.
