Sadia Imam reveals many male showbiz co-stars betrayed her

Pakistani actress and host Sadia Imam

Pakistani actress and host Sadia Imam has opened up about difficult experiences early in her showbiz career, revealing that she faced betrayal and opposition from several male colleagues whom she considered close friends.

Sadia Imam recently appeared on Nida Yasir’s morning show “Good Morning Pakistan,” where she spoke candidly about her career and friendships within the entertainment industry.

She said that when she entered the industry, there were relatively few female artists. Most of the women working alongside her were either much more senior or junior, meaning that most of her professional circle consisted of male colleagues.

According to Sadia, she gradually realized that some people she considered close friends were actually trying to harm her career.

She said that on several occasions, she overheard colleagues telling producers and others not to cast her in projects.

Sadia claimed that some of her colleagues complained that she was not a “party girl” and did not socialize or attend parties with them during shoots.

She said that even while working on drama projects abroad, she was allegedly sidelined from some productions or offered supporting roles instead of lead roles for the same reason.

The actress said the most painful aspect was that some of those involved were people who were extremely close to her, regularly spent time with her and even visited her home.

Sadia recalled that her father had always advised her that it was better to be alone than to have fake friends. However, she said that when she was young, she did not fully understand the importance of his advice.

With time and experience, she said, she came to understand her father’s words and learned valuable lessons from the experiences she encountered in her career.
