Saboor Aly rejects adoption rumours about daughter

WEBDESK: Pakistani actress Saboor Aly has strongly denied online rumours claiming that her daughter was adopted.

Speaking in a recent Podcast with Aymen Saleem, Saboor said the speculation was “hurtful and baseless”. She expressed visible frustration over the comments and made it clear that the claims were untrue.

Pakistani actress Saboor Aly has shared that her sister, fellow actress Sajal Aly, had a strong feeling she was expecting before anyone else knew.

“Interestingly, Sajal had already sensed something. She just texted me and asked, ‘Are you pregnant?’ She had a feeling somehow,” Saboor recalled in a recent conversation with actress Aymen Saleem.

This was part of Saboor’s first public reflection on her journey into motherhood, where she opened up about her pregnancy, the birth of her daughter, and the emotions she went through.

Saboor, who married actor Ali Ansari in 2022, welcomed her daughter Serena Ali on 18 March 2025. The couple announced the birth a day later on social media.

Recalling the start of her pregnancy, Saboor said she was on a girls’ trip abroad when she first felt unwell. “It was a sensation unlike anything I had felt before. Coincidentally, Ali was set to join me that day in Turkey,” she said.

She explained that the couple had not been planning for a baby. “We had left it to the flow of life, believing that only Allah knows the right time to bring someone into your life,” she said. When Ali arrived, she immediately shared the news with him. “It was a very emotional moment for me.”

Saboor said she felt an urgent need to return home after finding out. “I knew once I got home, everything would be fine. My home is my safe space,” she said.

Describing her initial reaction, Saboor called it a “mixed feeling”. She admitted she was anxious and shivering while waiting for Ali to arrive. “But when I saw the test report, my mother was the first person who came to my mind,” she added.

Speaking about her late mother, Saboor became emotional. “No one can fill her absence, but throughout my pregnancy, delivery, and even after, everything somehow became easier. I believe she was there with me in spirit. That’s the only reason it all felt so manageable.”

Although she usually enjoys surprises, Saboor chose not to make a big reveal. She invited only her sister-in-law Mariyum Ansari and her sister Sajal to her home.

She also shared how Ali let the rest of the family know. While playing with his niece, he casually said, “Will you play with your cousin brother or sister?” The family reacted with surprise and joy. “It was a very emotional moment,” she said.
