Israel bombs Qatar’s capital Doha

WEBDESK: Loud explosions were heard in Qatar’s capital, Doha.

According to the Israeli Broadcasting Authority, a senior Israeli official confirmed that the blasts were the result of an Israeli attack. The official said the strike targeted senior Hamas figures based in the city.

Arab media reported that several blasts were heard in the Katara area of Doha.

Israeli media also claimed that Hamas negotiators were the target of the bombing. Arab outlets further reported that Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya was killed in the attack.

Senior Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya, who was killed in the blasts, was in Doha for ceasefire talks. Authorities in Qatar have not yet released an official statement. Details of casualties and damage remain unclear.

Qatar strongly condemns Israeli strike, calls it ‘blatant violation’ of international laws

A spokesperson for Qatar’s foreign ministry strongly condemned the Israeli strike, calling it “a blatant violation of international law” and “a serious threat” to Qatar’s security.

Dr Majed Al Ansari said the attack targeted a residential building in Doha that houses several members of Hamas’ political bureau.

“The State of Qatar condemns this reckless act in the strongest terms,” the statement said, adding that Qatar “will not tolerate Israel’s ongoing provocations that endanger regional security and undermine the country’s sovereignty.”

No Hamas members killed in Israeli attack, reports Al Jazeera

A Hamas source told Al Jazeera that all members attending a meeting in Doha to discuss President Trump’s ceasefire proposal survived Israel’s assassination attempt.

Pakistan condemns Israeli aggression against the State of Qatar

Pakistan strongly condemned Israel’s attack on Qatar, calling it a reckless and provocative act. The Foreign Office said the strike was a clear violation of Qatar’s sovereignty, international law, the UN Charter, and basic rules of interstate relations.

Pakistan expressed full solidarity with Qatar and termed the aggression unlawful and unprovoked. It said Israel’s action once again showed its disregard for international peace and security, as well as its policy of destabilising the region.

The statement urged the international community to hold Israel accountable and warned that such impunity must not continue. Pakistan reaffirmed its support for Qatar’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and vowed to stand with the Qatari people and leadership in protecting their security.
