WEBDESK: Heavy rain, strong winds, and thunderstorms are affecting large parts of Pakistan today. Authorities have warned of flash floods in rivers, streams, and low-lying areas in the regions of Dir, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Nowshera, Sawabi, Murree, Galyat, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, northeastern Punjab, Kashmir, Dera Ghazi Khan, and nearby local streams.
Murree, Galyat to see rain today
In hilly areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Galyat, and Kashmir, landslides may disrupt traffic.
Rain continues in various areas of Rawalpindi, Islamabad
Low lying areas of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sialkot, Narowal, Peshawar, Nowshera, and Mardan are at risk of flooding.
Heavy rain, storms, and strong winds may also damage weak infrastructure, including mud houses, walls, electricity poles, billboards, vehicles, and solar panels. Residents, travellers, and tourists are advised to stay alert, plan their journeys carefully, and follow weather updates to avoid accidents or damage.
Rain with strong winds and thunderstorms is expected again on Sunday in Punjab, Kashmir, Pothohar, Islamabad, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with heavy rain in some areas. Northeastern Balochistan, southeastern Sindh, and Gilgit-Baltistan may also experience storms.
Highest temperatures recorded recently are at Chilas, Turbat, Dalbandin 43°C, and Nokundi 42°C.
Authorities have urged residents to remain cautious, avoid risky areas, and stay updated on weather conditions.
