Punjab introduces mobile app for jail visitors bookings

LAHORE: A new mobile application has been launched to facilitate meetings with prisoners across Punjab, including Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi.

According to sources, the app allows visitors to make advance bookings for meetings with inmates and under-trial prisoners. The meeting application is available for download on Google Play Store.

A circular has been issued to all jail superintendents in Punjab regarding the implementation of the app. Jail in-charges have received special training on the Prisoners Management Information System (PMIS) to ensure smooth operation. Additionally, operational videos have been provided to assist staff in further training.

To support the online booking process, staff members have been deployed in the jail waiting sheds, while special facilitation counters are being set up for visitors who make advance bookings through the app.
