Punjab government confirms no public holiday on February 4

Web desk: The Punjab government has announced February 6, 2026 as a local holiday to mark the celebration of Basant. The decision applies to selected areas where the festival is traditionally observed.

February 5, 2026 is already a gazetted public holiday across the country on the occasion of Kashmir Day. This means citizens will observe two consecutive holidays on February 5 and February 6.

There will be no public holiday on February 4. Offices schools and businesses will operate as usual on that day before the back to back holidays later in the week.
