Web desk: The Punjab government has prepared a plan to construct 57,000 affordable and quality homes across the province, the spokesperson for the Housing Department said.
These homes will be built in 21 districts of the province under the supervision of the Punjab Housing Department. The grounds used will be government land.
In the first phase of the scheme, 20,000 homes will be constructed across the 41 selected sites.
The houses will be made available to eligible people on easy instalments. The project is expected to be completed within five years.
The spokesperson added that the project will be implemented in partnership with the World Bank and the private sector.
Residents will have access to all necessary facilities, and quality checks, along with regular monitoring of construction work, will be ensured throughout the project.
Drawing on past experiences, the Housing Department plans to complete the project using a well-structured strategy. The proposal will soon be submitted to the provincial cabinet for approval.
