Narowal: The Narowal district administration has declared a public holiday on November 1 (Saturday) to mark the annual Urs of Hazrat Pir Syed Jamaat Ali Shah (RA), since Sunday is already a weekly holiday, residents of the district will get a two-day break this weekend.

Deputy Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza issued the official notification announcing the closure of all public and private offices, educational institutions and local government departments on Saturday.

Devotees from across the country will gather at Alipur Syedan Sharif to pay tribute to the revered Sufi saint. The three-day Urs will feature Quran recitations, Naat sessions and religious gatherings where scholars and spiritual leaders will highlight the teachings and services of Hazrat Pir Syed Jamaat Ali Shah (RA).

The district administration has completed all arrangements to ensure smooth proceedings during the celebrations. Officials have set up facilities for accommodation, food, clean drinking water, sanitation and medical assistance to facilitate visitors.

Authorities have deployed police, Rescue 1122 and health department teams to maintain strict security and provide 24-hour services. They have also prepared detailed traffic and crowd management plans to keep order throughout the event.

The administration has urged citizens to cooperate with officials and play their part in maintaining peace and discipline during the Urs.
