PIMS Tragedy: PM suspends 8 officials

Prime Minister (PM) Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday said that the sole agenda of the opposition is to make the talks fail and are pursuing an anti-state agenda.

Addressing the participants during the groynd breaking ceremony of the Kashmir Chowk underpass, the PM said that on one side the country is on the road to progress, while on the other side PTI is adamant to derail any progress.

” Be wise, sit with us and work for the betterment of the country”, the PM said.

Long march and sitins will achieve nothing except damage the economy, he said. We will not allow anyone to destroy the country.

PM said Pakistan’s economy had been stabilised after two and a half years of hard work and teamwork.
He said achieving macroeconomic stability had been difficult, but the government remained committed to putting Pakistan on the path of development and prosperity.
Shehbaz Sharif said previous efforts to make talks successful had unfortunately failed.
He warned that continued protests and sit-ins could hurt the country’s exports, imports and manufacturing sector, adding that the economy would be the first victim of political unrest.
The prime minister questioned whether bringing the country’s development process to a halt could be considered anything other than harmful to Pakistan.
He urged PTI to reconsider its protest politics and avoid damaging Pakistan’s international reputation.
“If you end the marches and sit-ins, we are ready to talk to you,” the prime minister said.
