Islamabad: PTI Protest at Adiala Jail is expected to gather workers and supporters from different regions of the country. Chief Organizer Punjab, Aliya Hamza, urged citizens to join the demonstration and stand with Khan’s family during what she described as a critical period.
Call for Support and Rights Advocacy
Aliya Hamza emphasized that meeting Imran Khan is a constitutional, legal and human right recognized by courts and jail regulations. She said the PTI protest aims to oppose any attempts to restrict these visits and called on all party workers, ticket holders, and supporters to remain present as long as Khan’s family is at the jail.
She also instructed ticket holders to bring at least four supporters each to the gathering, highlighting the party’s determination to maintain a visible presence outside the facility.
Traffic Warnings for Ordinary Citizens
Authorities have warned that the PTI protest could lead to major road closures around Adiala Jail, resulting in significant traffic jams. Commuters and ordinary citizens in Rawalpindi and surrounding areas are advised to plan alternate routes and allow extra travel time, as local roads may become congested during the demonstration.
PTI Protest Signals Escalating Political Tensions
Observers note that the PTI protest is part of a broader political mobilization by the party, aimed at maintaining public attention on Imran Khan’s legal and personal rights. Analysts say the gathering could escalate tensions in the area, especially given the anticipated large turnout and the potential for disruptions to daily life in the city.
