ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Former Information Secretary Ahmad Jawad has been arrested from the federal capital on Wednesday.
According to media reports, he was taken into custody from Islamabad’s G-13 area under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA). A team from the National Cyber Crime Agency carried out the operation leading to his arrest.
Reports added that a formal case has been registered against Ahmad Jawad under PECA provisions.
Ahmad Jawad had previously been affiliated with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) before joining PTI, where he served as the party’s Information Secretary.
Sources further revealed that Jawad has been handed over to the concerned department for further investigation.
