PPP denies rumours of replacing Sarfraz Bugti as Chief Minister

Parliamentary leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) in Balochistan, Sadiq Umrani, has completely dismissed all rumours regarding an expected replacement of Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti. Sadiq Umrani said that all reports regarding the matter are “baseless and misleading.”

Sadiq Umrani confirmed that CM Balochistan Sarfraz Bugti will continue his position as CM Balochistan, adding that all the claims of his replacement are entirely fake news.

He mentioned that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also stated that replacing chief ministers is not suitable when the democracy in the country is in the process of getting stable.

In a response to Senator M.Dostain Domki, Sadiq Umrani said if the senator has any concerns, he should tell the party leadership. Umrani further stated that Senator Domki shouldn’t be raising concerns in public, suggesting that these concerns should be addressed through party structures.  

Sadiq Umrani also criticises MPA Liaqat Lehri, saying that Liaqat Lehri violated party policies several times. He also said that this issue will be presented before the senior party leadership for further action against him.

He reaffirmed that the Pakistan Peoples Party will always support Sarfraz Bugti, adding that all the rumours about his replacement are false. He also mentioned that PPP stays committed to make sure stability in Balochistan.

Earlier on Wednesday, Senator Domki claimed that PPP is considering to replace Sarfraz Bugti from his position as chief minister of Balochistan.

In his statement, he had said that the next chief minister of Balochistan will come from the PPP.
