Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said on Wednesday that no political party should be banned. He also said that imposing governor’s rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was not on the PPP’s agenda.

He gave these remarks after Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders and multiple federal ministers urged a ban on the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and accused the party as “anti-state” and “anti-army” narrative.

“I am not in favour of banning any political party, but the party in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa must improve its conduct,” Chairman PPP said while talking to the media in Lahore.

Bilawal Bhutto stated that if any party would interfere in the ongoing security operations against terrorism, it would be handled accordingly. He further added that if a party facilitates terrorists, then it would be difficult to avoid governor’s rule in the province.

Earlier, the State Minister for Law, Aqeel Malik, had stated that the governor’s rule can be imposed in KP as the federal government is considering it seriously.

However, the Chief Minister KP, Sohail Afridi, challenged the PML-N to impose governor’s rule in the province.
