WEBDESK: The Ministry of Energy has said that electricity restoration work is moving quickly in flood-affected regions, with most damaged feeders now back online.
According to the latest report, a total of 543 feeders were disrupted due to floods. Out of these, 309 have been fully restored while 226 have been partially reconnected. Officials said that the remaining feeders will only be restored once floodwater recedes.
In Faisalabad Electric Supply Company’s area, 81 feeders were damaged, with 36 fully restored and 44 partially. In Lahore region, 63 out of 67 feeders are now fully functional, while four are partly working.
The Multan Electric Company reported 180 affected feeders, where seven are fully restored and 166 partially. Gujranwala region had 103 disrupted feeders; 96 are now fully active and seven partly restored.
Peshawar Electric Supply Company has reconnected 87 feeders, either fully or partially. In North Waziristan and Khyber, 17 out of 18 feeders are fully operational and one partially. Hazara Electric Company has also fixed technical issues in all three feeders affected in Mansehra.
A spokesperson for the Power Division assured that the remaining grid stations across the country will be restored without delay as soon as water levels go down.
