Karachi board updates
In other news, Ghulam Hussain Soho, the head of the Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK), said that in the next few years, 70 per cent of the questions on the matric exam will be multiple-choice. The goal of this adjustment is to get students used to the format of competitive entry tests like the ECAT and MCAT earlier, which will help them become used to the examinations and lower their dependence on pricey entry test prep schools. This plan will be put into action after getting the go-ahead from the Inter Board Senate Committee of Chairmen (IBCC). It is meant to help parents with their money problems and students with their mental health.
The BSEK has also decided to raise the passing marks to 40 per cent from the upcoming academic year to improve academic standards and motivate students to work harder.
