Web Desk: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif offered Eidul Azha prayers on Thursday alongside thousands of worshippers and urged the nation to promote unity, sacrifice and compassion during the religious festival.
President Zardari offered Eid prayers at Zardari House in Islamabad, where citizens, political figures and community elders joined the congregation.
Following the prayers, the president prayed for Pakistan’s peace, security, progress and prosperity. He also exchanged Eid greetings with worshippers and local dignitaries.
In his Eid message, Zardari said Eidul Azha reflects the values of obedience, patience and selflessness demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and Prophet Ismail (AS).
He urged the nation to strengthen unity, promote brotherhood and support underprivileged communities across the country.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif offered Eid prayers in Lahore and prayed for Pakistan’s peace, stability and economic development.
The prime minister called on citizens to remember vulnerable and low-income families during Eid celebrations. He also urged collective efforts to strengthen national unity and address the country’s challenges.
Shehbaz Sharif said Eidul Azha teaches Muslims the spirit of sacrifice and encourages people to place collective welfare above personal interests.
Across Pakistan, worshippers gathered at mosques and Eid grounds to celebrate Eidul Azha with religious devotion and traditional enthusiasm.
Special prayers were also offered nationwide for Pakistan’s progress, public welfare and the unity of the Muslim Ummah.
