PM Shehbaz removes his name from ‘Nishan-e-Pakistan’ nomination

WEBDESK: The Civil and Military Awards Committee had recommended Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s name for the country’s highest civilian award, the Nishan-e-Pakistan, on the occasion of 14 August 2025.

According to Jang News, after receiving the committee’s summary, the Prime Minister removed his own name from the list. He approved all other names included in the recommendation.

Meanwhile, a formal ceremony was held at the Presidency to confer top civil and military honours. The event coincided with Independence Day celebrations and Pakistan’s recent historic victory over India.

Field Marshal Asim Munir has been conferred with the prestigious Hilal-e-Jur’at for his exemplary service and leadership. Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad was also awarded the Hilal-e-Jur’at. Meanwhile, Naval Chief Admiral Naveed Ashraf and Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza were decorated with the Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military).

Director General ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has been honored with the Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military) in recognition of his services during Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos.

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari also received the Nishan-e-Imtiaz for his services to the nation. Moreover, Federal Ministers Attaullah Tarar and Ishaq Dar were honored with the prestigious Nishan-e-Imtiaz.
