At the time, PM Shehbaz promised Ikramullah that he would get good education and he was provided with an opportunity to get education at the country’s prominent educational institute.

He is currently studying at the prestigious Lawrence College, Murree.

2022 floods in Pakistan

In 2022, unprecedented monsoon floods submerged a third of Pakistan and killed 1,700 people, with some areas yet to recover from the damage.

The catastrophic floods affected 33 million people across the country.

By the end of 2022, the number of people facing food insecurity increased from 7 million to 14.6 million as a result of loss of production and price increases, according to preliminary estimates.

Moreover, at least 26,632 schools were damaged or destroyed in the four provinces due to the floods.

It is pertinent to mention that Pakistan is one of the world’s most vulnerable countries to the effects of climate change, and its 240 million residents are facing extreme weather events with increasing frequency.
