Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in his special message to the nation and a statement issued on social media platform X on the occasion of Youm-e-Takbeer, said that on May 28, 1998, Pakistan restored the balance of power in the region by conducting nuclear tests and crushed all enemy designs.
Shehbaz Sharif stated in his message that the services of former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, national hero Abdul Qadeer Khan, Samar Mubarakmand, along with all scientists, engineers, and national leadership involved in completing Pakistan’s nuclear program, are unforgettable.
He said that then Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif made the decision to protect national security and sovereignty without succumbing to any pressure or temptation.
The Prime Minister said that Pakistan’s strong nuclear defense and the preparedness of its Armed Forces are an iron wall against enemy aggression.
He further stated that by giving a befitting response to the enemy in the “Marka-e- Haq,” the nation and the Armed Forces of Pakistan proved that no compromise can be made on the country’s defense.
Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the professional capabilities of the Armed Forces under the leadership of Asim Munir and said that the exemplary performance of Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu and Naveed Ashraf has established Pakistan’s defensive strength over the enemy.
The Prime Minister alleged that the enemy is now trying to damage Pakistan’s peace through proxies instead of direct attacks.
He said that decisive action through Operation Ghazab Lil Haq against elements like Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan will continue and their facilitators will also not be spared.
He clarified that Pakistan has no aggressive intentions; however, the right to defend the motherland will be preserved at all costs.
The Prime Minister appealed to the nation to unite for unity, stability, and progress, and to confront every internal and external conspiracy together so that Pakistan can become a strong, prosperous, and dignified state.
