Lahore: Pakistan Railways generated record revenue from passenger trains during the three days of Eid, which officials have attributed to positive policies.
According to private TV channel Dunya News, the railway spokesperson said that Rs 110 million was earned on the first day of Eid, Rs 170 million on the second day, and more than Rs 200 million on the third day. Additionally, total revenue from passenger trains over the past week has exceeded Rs 1 billion.
Federal Minister for Railways, Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, stated that this record income is the result of improved strategy, and the railway administration deserves appreciation.
He further directed that more steps should be taken to provide better facilities to passengers, adding that quality services and strong railway tracks are the basic right of passengers, and work is ongoing on both aspects.
The minister also said that the Karachi to Rohri railway track will be fully upgraded within the next three years.
