5G Launched with 300+ sites in Pakistan

With the effective strategy of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), Pakistan has successfully entered a new era of 5G spectrum and digital development.

More than 300 5G sites are now active across the country, and services have already been launched in major cities and key locations.

Jazz has activated 180 sites, while Zong has launched 150 5G sites. Additionally, 5G services are now available on 2,254 devices across 103 mobile brands.

The Pakistan Software Houses Association has termed the launch of 5G technology a revolutionary step for the country and praised the efforts of the Prime Minister, Ministry of IT, SIFC, and PTA for the successful spectrum auction.

According to Advisor to the Finance Minister, Khurram Shehzad, the introduction of 5G spectrum will significantly improve internet speed and quality in Pakistan.

He further stated that three major companies — Etisalat, China Mobile, and Veon Group — have collectively invested over $500 million in Pakistan through the 5G auction.

He also added that Jazz (Veon Group) has announced an additional $1 billion investment in Pakistan over the next three years.

The continued inflow of local and foreign investment is seen as a strong indicator of economic recovery and sustainable stability in the country.
