Leaders from various schools of thought and religious communities, representing the Government of Pakistan’s National Paigham-e-Aman Committee, visited Farooqabad in Sheikhupura district to express solidarity with the Sikh community and reaffirm their commitment to interfaith tolerance, religious harmony, and mutual respect.
During the visit, the delegation also inspected the dharamshala in Farooqabad, where a wall had collapsed due to its deteriorated condition. It was agreed that the dharamshala would be rebuilt through mutual cooperation while fully preserving its historical and religious significance.
The delegation stressed that the rights of Muslims and non-Muslims in Pakistan are protected under the Constitution of Pakistan, and that the ownership, religious identity, and historical status of any place of worship—including temples, mosques, gurdwaras, and dharamshalas—would not be changed.
Members of the National Paigham-e-Aman Committee rejected what they described as baseless propaganda regarding the Farooqabad dharamshala, stating that there was no truth to such claims.
They reaffirmed that the dharamshala would retain its original historical and religious status and that its protection and preservation would be ensured.
