Pakistan–Egypt counterterror exercise “Thunder II” concludes

Pak Egypt exercise Thunder II


Rawalpindi: A joint counterterrorism military exercise titled “Thunder II” between the armed forces of Pakistan and Egypt has been successfully completed in the Cherat area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.


According to ISPR, the two-week-long exercise aimed to enhance professional skills, procedures, and operational techniques through joint training, as well as to promote coordination between the two militaries.


Troops from the Pakistan Army’s Special Services Group (SSG) and Egyptian Special Forces actively participated in the exercise and demonstrated high levels of professionalism during training.


At the closing ceremony, the General Officer Commanding of the Special Services Group attended as the chief guest. The Commander of the Egyptian Paratroopers, Major General Mohammad Saad Abdelrazek, and Egypt’s Defence Attaché were also present on the occasion.


This joint exercise proved to be an important milestone in further strengthening the longstanding and strong military ties between the two brotherly countries.


Military officials attach high value to such joint exercises. It not only improves tactical coordination in counterterrorism operations but also provides an opportunity to exchange modern warfare experiences and strengthen mutual trust, which is essential for addressing evolving regional and global security challenges.
