Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow. During the meeting, Pakistan and Russia agreed to further strengthen bilateral and regional cooperation.
According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, the heads of government of the SCO member states also participated in the meeting.
Russian President Vladimir Putin welcomed the leaders, saying on the occasion that he wanted to further strengthen economic cooperation in the region.
Earlier, in his address to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister said that the SCO has a better capacity to play an effective role at the regional level in dealing with emergencies and humanitarian cooperation.
He said that Pakistan has developed a proactive disaster management system based on technology and is looking forward to conducting exercises with SCO partners to further improve regional disaster preparedness.
