Web Desk: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held urgent diplomatic consultations with his counterparts from Kuwait and Saudi Arabia on Thursday to address escalating hostilities in Lebanon and the fragile state of regional stability.

During separate telephone conversations with Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Ali al-Yahya and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Dar underscored the critical need for a sustainable ceasefire. The diplomats collectively warned that continued violations of truce agreements are undermining humanitarian operations and threatening to destabilize neighboring states.

While Kuwaiti Foreign Minister al-Yahya welcomed preliminary ceasefire initiatives, he expressed grave concern alongside Dar regarding recent breaches that affect Kuwait’s regional interests. Consequently, both ministers agreed that strict adherence to established protocols remains the only viable path toward peace. They further pledged to utilize the framework of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to advocate for a unified resolution.

Simultaneously, the dialogue between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia focused on the deteriorating security landscape in Lebanon. Dar and Prince Faisal bin Farhan emphasized that full implementation of the truce is essential for restoring calm. To prevent further escalation, the two leaders agreed to maintain close coordination and frequent communication as the situation evolves.

Amidst these diplomatic efforts, Pakistan issued a forceful condemnation of Israeli military actions in Lebanon. Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi released a statement highlighting the heavy loss of life and the widespread destruction of civilian infrastructure. Andrabi characterized these attacks as a direct violation of international law that actively damages the prospects for long-term regional stability.

Furthermore, Pakistan reiterated its complete solidarity with the Lebanese government and people. The Foreign Office reaffirmed Islamabad’s support for Lebanon’s independence and territorial sovereignty, noting that the current violence severely hinders peace efforts.

As tensions rise despite the existence of a formal truce, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait have called for enhanced international cooperation. The three nations concluded that all parties must respect diplomatic boundaries to ensure the restoration of regional security and the protection of humanitarian corridors.
