Islamabad: In the Pakistan vs South Africa first T20 match, which is to be held on October 28, 2025, the cricket team will make a historic appearance in pink jerseys, promoting breast cancer awareness, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced. Umpires, support staff and commentators will also wear pink ribbons, while stumps and stadium signage will feature awareness messages.

Captain Salman Ali Agha said the team is shaping its strategy based on last year’s ground data and will maintain the same approach this series. Speaking to the media, he emphasized team cohesion, explaining that the team keeps even non-selected players in the loop and makes all decisions collaboratively with the selection committee.

Salman highlighted that the team is learning from past mistakes, focusing on strengthening batting and enhancing bowling performance. He added that the team needs more all-rounders to maintain balance and praised Babar Azam as a “world-class player” whose presence greatly benefits the team.

PCB COO Sameer Ahmed Siddiqui said, “We take pride in using cricket’s popularity to raise social awareness. Early detection can save countless lives.” The PCB said this marks the first time an international series, not just PSL matches, will incorporate breast cancer awareness initiatives.

Pakistan vs South Africa series will continue with the second and third T20 matches on October 31 and November 1 in Lahore, followed by a three-match ODI series from November 4–8 in Faisalabad.
