Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Law Minister Abdul Waheed has announced on Sunday that a no-confidence motion against the sitting Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwarul Haq will be tabled within the next three to four days.
His statements come amid rising tension in AJK, as Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari claimed that PPP had gained enough support to form a government in the autonomous region.
The AJK law minister stated that the no-confidence motion got delayed due to talks with political leaders and stakeholders.
However, Waheed assured that the PPP has a clear majority to form a government in AJK independently.
After the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) forward bloc, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has more than 27 members to form a government. Barrister Sultan Mahmood is leading the PTI forward bloc.
PPP leader claimed that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) will support the PPP in the no-confidence motion. However, PML-N has announced earlier that it would sit on the opposition benches.
The PPP started the process to form its government in AJK right after President Asif Ali Zardari announced the move.
The PPP strengthened its position in the Legislative Assembly after 10 PTI lawmakers joined the party on October 26 in a meeting with President Zardari’s sister, Faryal Talpur, at Zardari House in Islamabad.
After that, PML-N assured its support for PPP in the no-confidence motion against AJK Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwarul Haq.
