Web Desk: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has launched a Rs600 million internship program for veterinary graduates and para-veterinary staff, aiming to boost employment and strengthen the livestock sector.
Under the initiative, the government will offer internships to 1,000 candidates. Veterinary graduates will receive a monthly stipend of Rs60,000, while para-vets will get Rs40,000.
For the ongoing year, authorities have allocated 264 positions for veterinary graduates and 371 for para-vets. Officials said they may expand the program in future phases based on performance and available funding.
Meanwhile, the government has extended the application deadline to May 15, 2026. This extension provides additional time for eligible candidates to complete their submissions.
Applicants must fill out the online form available on the official Punjab Jobs Portal. Authorities advised candidates to submit applications before the deadline to avoid disqualification.
The initiative forms part of broader efforts to tackle youth unemployment and improve animal health services across Punjab. Officials said the program will offer practical training while supporting rural economic development.
Further details regarding selection and placement will be announced after the application process closes.
