Pakistan fast bowler Naseem Shah has issued a statement regarding the controversial tweet.


In a statement posted on social media, he said that the post shared from his account was made by his management team and does not reflect his personal views.

He added that he takes full responsibility for his platform and has made the necessary changes to ensure such an incident does not happen again.


The fast bowler also expressed heartfelt apologies to all those affected by the misuse of the platform.


It is worth mentioning that the Pakistan Cricket Board had issued a show-cause notice to him for violating central contract terms as well as media policy and regulations.


Later, Naseem Shah submitted his response to the committee, after which a three-member disciplinary committee conducted a personal hearing.


Following the hearing, the committee announced its decision and imposed a fine of PKR 20 million on him for violating the central contract.


According to the board, while taking note of his unconditional apology, the committee concluded that he had breached multiple clauses of his agreement, resulting in the fine of Rs 20 million.
