NADRA makes visa applications, biometric verification easier

NADRA has made the process of visa applications and biometric verification much easier with the release of a new version of its Pak ID mobile app.


The upgraded app simplifies the visa process for foreigners visiting Pakistan and for overseas Pakistanis. Citizens of all 193 countries can now apply for any visa category directly through the app.


Applicants no longer need to manually enter their name, passport number, or expiry date. By using the app’s upload or capture feature, a passport-sized photo automatically scans the information and fills out the application form.


The app now includes a dedicated section for biometric verification, making the process faster and more convenient.

Users can complete verification for blood relatives, vehicle transfers, inheritance, passports, firearm licenses, and pensions through “proof of life” from home. Facial recognition and fingerprint verification have also been made simpler and quicker than before.


This update is part of NADRA’s innovative push toward digital transformation, aimed at reducing the bulk of paperwork, saving time, and making essential government services more accessible to citizens both within Pakistan and abroad.
