Section 144 in Murree aims to manage crowds and ensure safety
The decision follows a DIC meeting, which flagged the risk of large crowds and possible disorder during the holiday period.
The administration said the restriction is a precaution to keep movement smooth and protect visitors and residents at key public spots.
Officials have warned that the order carries legal backing.
Section 144 will remain in force throughout the three days, and violators will face legal action under Section 188 of the PPC.
Authorities advise visitors to plan travel accordingly and expect checks near Murree’s main entry points.
Murree typically sees a surge of tourists around August 14, which creates pressure on roads, hotels and public spaces.
Authorities say the families only filter at the busiest locations will reduce crowding and help security teams manage footfall more effectively.
The administration is also urging visitors to cooperate with law enforcement and follow guidance from on ground staff.
The district administration may issue further advisories during the three day period, if needed.
