Web Desk: The Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) completed the digital lucky draw for the second batch of its Graduate Engineer Trainee Program on Friday, selecting 1,700 young engineers for professional industrial training. Consequently, the chosen graduates will receive a monthly stipend of 50,000 PKR throughout the six-month duration of the program.

According to PEC officials, the council received a total of 5,300 online applications from across the country. After a rigorous screening process, authorities shortlisted 3,982 candidates for the final selection phase. To ensure complete transparency, the council utilized a digital lucky draw system to finalize the 1,700 trainees.

The selection distribution specifically addressed regional representation and merit. Officials confirmed that they reserved 300 seats exclusively for graduates from Balochistan, all of which have been filled. Meanwhile, the council selected the remaining 1,400 candidates from other provinces and federal territories.

PEC Chairman Engineer Nazeer Waseem announced that the program aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and industrial requirements. He emphasized that this initiative will play a key role in providing essential technical skills to the youth. Furthermore, the chairman noted that the PEC established partnerships with both public and private sector organizations to host these trainees and promote a skilled workforce.

By placing these engineers in various industrial and government institutions, the PEC intends to bolster national industrial development. Therefore, the program represents a significant investment in the professional growth of Pakistan’s engineering sector.
