First priority is to identify suicide attacker, says Mohsin Naqvi after Islamabad blast

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi stated that Pakistan’s first priority is to identify the suicide attacker following the blast outside district court in Islamabad’s G-11 sector.

Addressing media at the spot of the incident, Naqvi confirmed that the suicide attack occurred today at 12:39 PM, leaving at least 12 people martyred and 27 injured. He said that the Prime Minister has directed immediate treatment for the injured.

Mohsin Naqvi stated that the suicide attacker had planned to enter the court but, unable to find an opportunity and exploded near the police vehicle.

Yesterday in Wana, a vehicle-borne suicide attacker detonated at the entry point, with area clearance operations still underway.

The minister stated that Afghanistan is involved in the Wana Cadet college attack, with communications traced to Kabul.

Those behind the court attack will also be exposed, he added. Evidence has been shared with Afghanistan showing how individuals are trained there before carrying out attacks, Moshin Naqvi said.

Pakistan’s interior minister warned that If Afghanistan does not curb its rogue elements, there will be no choice but to address them.

In a horrific incident, at least twelve people lost their lives whereas 20 sustained injuries in suicide blast in Islamabad G-11 sector’s District Courts in yet another incident of Indian sponsored terrorism.

As per details, the authorities have reached the spot of incident and rescue vehicles have been rushed to the area. The head of the suicide bomber’s head was found lying on the road at the scene.
