The Pakistan cricket team has left their hotel and is on the way to the stadium for the Asia Cup match.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) spokesperson announced that the Asia Cup match between Pakistan and the UAE has been pushed back by one hour. The decision comes amid uncertainty over the referee issue, which has kept the fixture in doubt throughout the day.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has called former chairmen Rameez Raja and Najam Sethi for consultation as uncertainty continues over Pakistan’s Asia Cup match against the UAE.
The deadlock over the match referee has not been resolved. The decision on whether Pakistan will play remains pending.
Team management has stopped players from leaving the hotel for the stadium. Players have been told to stay in their rooms until further notice.
Sources say the matter may end if match referee Andy Pycroft issues an apology. Pakistan could then consider playing the match against the UAE.
