National cricketer Mohammad Rizwan appeared before the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) in Lahore in an inquiry under online betting and the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA).
Cricketer Mohammad Rizwan appeared at the NCCIA office in Lahore, where a four-member investigation team questioned him for three and a half hours.
According to sources, the investigation team comprised one deputy director and three inspectors. The team questioned Mohammad Rizwan regarding the ongoing inquiry under online betting and the PECA.
Mohammad Rizwan had been issued a notice under Section 160 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. According to the notice, the NCCIA is conducting an inquiry under provisions of the PECA. The NCCIA also sought Mohammad Rizwan’s cooperation for the forensic examination and analysis of his confiscated mobile phone.
Mohammad Rizwan had appeared before the NCCIA previously as well.
After three hours of questioning, Mohammad Rizwan left the NCCIA office. When the media asked him what he had to say and what the inquiry was about, Mohammad Rizwan did not respond.
When asked what allegations had been made against him, to which Mohammad Rizwan replied, “You should ask them.” He further said that he had received a lot of love from the NCCIA.
Outside the NCCIA office, a fan expressed a desire to take a selfie with Mohammad Rizwan. He handed the fan’s mobile phone to a cameraman and had a picture taken with the fan, while also instructing the fan to make sure to take his mobile phone back.
Mohammad Rizwan was then asked whether he had received his mobile phone back. Smiling, he replied, “I am speechless at the moment,” and left.
