Modi’s Diplomatic Failures Expose India’s Global Embarrassment

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s diplomatic missteps and prolonged silence on major global issues have led to India’s growing humiliation on the international stage. Critics say the self-serving leader is risking the country’s sovereignty to extend his political survival.

Modi’s failed foreign policies have made India vulnerable to the strategic interests of the United States and other world powers. His much-touted claim of making India a “Vishwaguru” (world teacher) has crumbled, particularly after his submissive stance before U.S. President Donald Trump.

The opposition Congress Party has sharply criticized Modi’s diplomatic failures, accusing his government of concealing crucial details of his telephonic discussions with Trump.

Congress leader Jairam Ramesh remarked that key national decisions are often revealed abroad before being officially announced in India. He cited Trump’s statement claiming India had assured him of halting Russian oil imports, saying, “While Modi hides national policies, Trump publicly announces them.”

Ramesh also recalled that Trump had prematurely revealed the suspension of “Operation Sindoor” before any official communication from the Indian government.

He further added that Modi’s refusal to attend the Kuala Lumpur Summit and the Gaza Conference reflects his unwillingness to face global leaders, especially Trump. “The Prime Minister who boasts of self-reliance is now bowing before foreign powers,” Ramesh said, adding that Modi’s failed diplomacy has completely exposed India’s so-called sovereignty.
