Meta announces updates

Meta has announced new updates to make Instagram Stories more engaging and customizable.

According to the company’s statement, users will now be able to edit their Stories in multiple new ways using generative artificial intelligence (AI)-powered tools.

While options to add, remove, or replace photos and videos in Stories have been available since June 2025, Meta has further improved these features. Users can now restyle photos within their Stories and add interactive stickers that friends can reuse in their own Stories.

A new browser icon has been added at the bottom right of the app, allowing users to explore and apply different styles easily. The news tool allows users to modify photos and videos using simple text prompts. The new features appear under the Restyle menu in the Stories interface, accessible via a tap on the paintbrush icon.

Additionally, Meta revealed that users can include new effects aligned with seasons or festivals and restyle short videos for a more creative look. Instagram Stories will also allow restyling of text, with AI-generated text suggestions helping users create more expressive and visually appealing stories.
