Lahore: Pakistani batter Mehreen Ali has made history in blind women’s cricket by setting a new world record. Representing Pakistan in the Women’s Blind Cricket World Cup, she became the first player to score a double century in the tournament.
Mehreen achieved the milestone against Sri Lanka, scoring an extraordinary 230 runs off 78 balls. She completed her double century in just 70 deliveries, powered by 39 boundaries.
Speaking about the achievement, Mehreen Ali said she was grateful to God for the honour. She also thanked the Pakistan Blind Cricket Council and her parents, dedicating the record to Pakistan and her family.
In the match itself, Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka by 221 runs. Chasing a target of 332, the Sri Lankan side was bowled out for 120.
For Sri Lanka, Mirani scored 51 while Metisha added 29 runs. On Pakistan’s side, Noor Fatima, Hooria Malik and Sameera Malik each took one wicket.
