Web Desk: Pakistan has discovered a large-scale oil and gas reserve, which will produce 3100 barrels of crude oil and 8.15 mmscfd of gas per day.
According to details, the Oil and Gas Development Company (OGDCL) announced a new oil and gas discovery in the Samana Suk and Shinwari formations of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The announcement said that 3,100 barrels of crude oil and 8.15 mmscfd of gas will be obtained from the Shinwari formations well per day.
OGDCL said that the Bargzi X01 well was successfully drilled to a depth of 5,170 meters. This discovery is an important step towards the country’s energy self-sufficiency and will help reduce dependence on energy imports.
This new oil and gas discovery is expected to reduce the gap between energy demand and supply.
OGDCL has a 65 percent working share in the well, while Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) has a 30 percent partner and Government Holding Private Limited has 5 percent working shares.
The announcement said that the discovery will help meet the country’s energy needs and reduce dependence on energy imports.
