In a major reshuffle, Islamabad Police has removed 29 retired officers who had been serving on contract after retirement.
According to officials, the officers had joined the federal police on contract after completing their regular service. Those removed include four Superintendents of Police (SPs), three Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) and three inspectors.
Other contract employees, including a radiology assistant, legal assistant, director IT and software engineer, have also been removed from their positions.
A chief nursing superintendent, assistant sub-inspector and constable were also among those whose contracts ended.
The services of these officers had been hired from 2023 and continued until June 30. Their contracts were not extended further, and they were removed from their posts after the contracts expired.
Sources claimed that some of the retired officers who were rehired after retirement had also failed to produce satisfactory results.
Islamabad Inspector General of Police Sohail Chaudhry has issued a notification regarding the decision.
