Step-by-step retirement decision
According to the media report, this policy from the government will apply to all federal ministries, departments and autonomous government bodies. Under this decision, lists of all government employees who have completed 50 years of age or older are being prepared so that their retirement process can be started in a phased manner. According to the media report, instructions have been issued to the concerned departments to compile a complete list of employees above 50 years of age working in their institutions and submit a report as soon as possible. Government sources in the media report are also confirming that a formal notification in this regard will be issued in the next few days after which formal implementation of this policy will be started. Youth Employment Opportunities
The government says the policy aims to promote the vision of ’new thinking, new energy‘ so that government institutions can function proactively and effectively according to modern requirements. Old and often inactive officers will now be replaced by young, educated and equipped with modern skills. Sources in the media report also say that under this policy, thousands of government employees will retire in the next few months, after which new candidates will be recruited on the basis of merit on their vacant vacancies. Criticism and concerns
On the other hand, reservations are also being expressed on this decision in some constituencies. Several government employees and their representative organizations have expressed concern that forcing employees to retire based on age may be an unfair practice. According to him, the performance of employees should be assessed at an individual level, not just based on age. Future Action
Government officials say the process will be transparent, fair, and in accordance with legal requirements. All dues and pension rights will be fully granted to retiring employees, while a special committee is also being set up to address complaints against any form of abuse or injustice. While this measure may be controversial, the government maintains that it is a 'necessary and timely decision’ in view of the country's economy, governance and provision of jobs for youth. Now it is to be seen how much the practical implementation of this policy improves the government system and whether this decision really succeeds in opening the doors to the youth?
