Evidence found in Khawar Hussain death case
Khawar Hussain’s body was found inside his car. Committee member DIG Irfan Baloch said that CCTV footage played a key role as evidence in the investigation.
After reviewing all available evidence, the committee concluded that Hussain had taken his own life. According to the report, CCTV footage was examined from Hussain’s journey starting in Karachi up to Sanghar.
Video recordings from the hotel parking area, including the moments leading up to the suicide, were reviewed from all angles. The inquiry also examined Hussain’s mobile phone call data record and statements of the last individuals he had contacted. Both the medical report and post-mortem confirmed suicide.
The report further noted that to establish the reasons behind the act, cooperation from the family was necessary. The committee’s findings mention that there was no water supply at Hussain’s home; he had called a water tanker operator and transferred the payment online.
Khawar Hussain reportedly stood outside the Sanghar hotel for about an hour before removing the SIM card from his phone himself.
CCTV footage from both the hotel and the surrounding areas was obtained, and it showed that during the entire time his car remained parked, no one came near it. Police had initially stated that journalist Khawar Hussain had apparently shot himself. His ancestral home is in Sanghar.
