Khalilzad tweet about operation against ISIS-K termed baseless

LAHORE: Okara’s District Police Officer has refuted claims circulating on social media that an operation targeting an alleged ISIS-Khorasan militant took place in the Akhtarabad police station area. The officer stated that no such incident occurred and termed the reports “baseless” and part of “Indian propaganda.”

According to police officials, there is no truth to assertions that an ISIS-K commander named Burhan was targeted in the region. The clarification came after former U.S. diplomat Zalmay Khalilzad posted on social media last night, claiming that an important ISIS-Khorasan commander had been targeted in Pakistan.

Responding to the claim, the Okara District Police Officer reiterated that no such activity took place within the jurisdiction of the Akhtarabad police station and described all circulating news on the matter as misleading.
