Web Desk: Israeli military strikes across the Gaza Strip killed at least 14 Palestinians, including eight people who died when a drone struck a funeral procession in the central Nuseirat refugee camp, according to Gaza health and civil defence officials.

The latest attacks came despite a ceasefire agreement that took effect months ago and has been repeatedly tested by continued military operations across the enclave.

Health officials said the deadliest strike hit civilians gathered near the Ahmad Yassin Mosque in the Al-Balata market area of Nuseirat, where mourners had assembled before the funeral of a Palestinian killed earlier in the day.

Al-Awda Hospital said at least 20 others sustained injuries in the attack.

Witnesses said the drone fired as people left the mosque to begin the funeral procession, causing multiple casualties among the crowd.

The Israeli military confirmed carrying out the strike, saying it had targeted what it described as a militant cell operating in central Gaza. It added that reports of civilian casualties were under review.

Meanwhile, Hamas condemned the attack, accusing Israel of continuing military operations despite the ceasefire and alleging that civilians remained under constant threat.

Elsewhere in Gaza, separate Israeli strikes claimed several more lives throughout the day.

Palestinian media reported that a 52-year-old woman was killed after a drone dropped an explosive device near Abu Tammam School in Beit Lahia in northern Gaza.

In central Gaza, another strike targeting a group of Palestinians in Az-Zawayda killed one person and wounded several others.

Israeli fire also hit a shelter housing displaced families in al-Sawarha, west of the Nuseirat refugee camp, killing one person.

In Gaza City, a drone strike on a residential apartment left one Palestinian dead and injured several others, including children. Separately, a woman succumbed to wounds sustained in Israeli gunfire southwest of Khan Younis.

Although a ceasefire officially remains in effect, violence has continued across Gaza, with frequent military operations reported in different parts of the territory.

Recent data from the Armed Conflict Location & Event Data (ACLED) research group indicated that Israeli attacks increased in recent months. The organization recorded more than 40 strikes last month, marking the highest monthly figure since the ceasefire began.

The increase has intensified concerns over the durability of the truce and the prospects for reconstruction in the war-ravaged enclave.

Residents and local observers said drones continue to operate extensively over Gaza, with constant aerial surveillance accompanying ongoing military operations and damage to civilian infrastructure.

Separately, Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported that 274 Palestinian children have been killed since the ceasefire took effect, averaging approximately one child per day during the period. The newspaper described the pattern as a routine feature of the conflict, underscoring the continuing humanitarian toll.
