Web Desk: Pakistan will establish its first world-class wildlife safari park in the federal capital, Islamabad, as authorities move forward with a major eco-tourism development project, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) said on Monday.

The planned facility will span 350 acres in the Bara Kahu area on the outskirts of Islamabad, according to a CDA spokesperson.

Officials said the project aims to introduce a unique wildlife experience in Pakistan while promoting environmental conservation and family-friendly recreational activities.

The CDA spokesperson said the safari park has been designed as a flagship initiative to enhance eco-tourism in the country and provide visitors with close-to-nature wildlife experiences.

Moreover, officials said the project will focus on wildlife protection alongside recreational facilities, positioning it as a multi-purpose development for both conservation and public entertainment.

Authorities said the location near Bara Kahu was selected to combine accessibility from Islamabad with a natural landscape suitable for wildlife habitats.

In addition, the CDA said the safari park will incorporate environmentally friendly design principles to minimise ecological impact while supporting biodiversity conservation efforts.

Officials said the project reflects a broader push to expand green infrastructure and tourism opportunities in Pakistan’s urban centers.

Once completed, the facility is expected to offer safari-style wildlife viewing experiences, educational attractions and family-oriented recreational spaces, according to the authority.
